Just days before it was announced that Marvel’s latest superhero outing, Iron Man 2, would be premiering on April 13th, it was revealed that Iron Man 2 would be postponed yet again. Why is this? Well, it was recently reported by Disney studio Pictures head Robert Downey Jr. that the planned second film in the Iron Man franchise, Iron Man 3, is now being put on hold at the last minute. No specifics were given as to what is going on, but fans of the late Tony Stark character are speculating that it may be related to Costinancing, the production code name for the late Michael Douglas star role of Dr. Sam Pritchard.

Downey Jr. made the statement while speaking with Yahoo! Movies. He said the following: “I know we’re supposed to start shooting the new Iron Man 2 in September, but I’ve learned that there’s a lot of work to do on the visual side, on the psychological and the continuity side. We haven’t actually begun that yet. There’s still a huge amount of development to do.” It seems that the delays in the release of the next Iron Man films is because of the amount of work that is required to truly pull of the spectacular visual effects that were promised with the original conception of the characters.

    During the past few weeks

I’ve written numerous articles about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly how the upcoming releases of Iron Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Spider-Man 3 are setting up the groundwork for what could be five decades of unparalleled comic book super power entertainment. This summer we also saw the release of Jurassic Park, a blockbuster which nearly killed the dinosaurs and turned the once thriving ecosystem of Isla Nublar into a life threatening survival of the fittest environment. While some people have criticized the dinosaurs as being too ‘staged’, I feel that dinosaurs can only go so far in a story, and that the long term potential of these creatures is tremendous. In regards to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I feel that it is essential to give audiences a chance to experience what it is like to be a part of something so epic, so let’s not take this opportunity away from them.

    For those

are wondering where the hell they can see the films, the Marvel Studios website has the information you need. They have several releases lined up including The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past. In the future, I’m sure that there will be quite a few more, so stay tuned! No matter where you live, hopefully you can catch a good showing of one of these Marvel Studios films this summer.

In June, we also saw the release of several untitled marvel projects ensuring that twenty-four new marvel movies will be in theaters between now and July. One of the most buzzworthy of these announcements was the casting of black costume actor Chadwick Bose as the Human Torch. His appearance in the highly anticipated Fantastic Four film has certainly given the internet a great deal of speculation as to whether or not Bose will play the human role in the next Fantastic Four movie, as he is also on the cast of the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. Also debuting in the Fantastic Four film is Doctor Doom, played by Eric Bana.

The other announcements included the previously announced appearance of Inglourious Basterds by Will Smith, a World War II German soldier who has been transformed into a monster. We also saw the first footage of Spiderman getting some action in the trailers for the next Spiderman film. Finally, the long awaited X-Men: Days of Future Past preview was also screened, giving fans a first look at the plot and the possible connections to the rest of the X-Men series. It looks like the timeline of the various X-Men films may be starting off with the First Day of the Creation in February of 2015, moving up to the events of New York and the founding of the Xavier Institute in September of the same year. Following the First Day of the Creation, several movies will follow, and after New York, there will be a grand finale in December of the same year.

Aside from the aforementioned announcements, there were no major surprises or even news, however, it was quite a busy day at the MDU. There was the announcement of the acquisition of the small independent film “Inglourious Basterds” by Fox-screen and Disney studios. This is the film that has become a hit with the online fans. Another exciting development was the news about the two Marvel Television shows, “plays” by Greg Berlanti and “romances” by Elizabeth Banks, that will likely debut in the next few years. Finally, it was also announced that two more MCU movies will arrive in the future. That would include the untitled “MCU 3″ movie, which will star Tom Hanks and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Walken, and the upcoming” Agents of S.H.I.T. “.

It’s been a while since we’ve done an in depth analysis of the Maryland Society of Metallurgical Engineers. Why have we been so neglectful? Well, maybe it’s because we all work too hard to take care of the planet, and let’s face it, there are far too many people who think that they are better than us, and they are wrong. Let’s enjoy the fact that the Maryland Society of Metallurgical Engineers is back, and that we have a great state university to work in for all of those Educircul that choose to follow in their footsteps.
