With the plethora of technologies surrounding us, only a few people are taking full advantage of these tools to make our work easier. Microsoft Teams is one such platform that can transform and upgrade the ways different teams working in an organization. This platform brings together different elements such as team chats, note-taking, skype, and integrates them with Microsoft office 365. Microsoft team is an effective source that helps the team enhance their productivity and efficiency by completing their projects before deadlines. Because Microsoft Teams can integrate multiple other platforms within it, working methods continue to evolve. If you want to double-down productivity at your workplace, here are a few things you need to do with Microsoft Teams.
Organize Your Teams
There are two major elements of team organization in Microsoft Teams that are the Team and the Channels within that team. While a team is created to work on a specific project, creating added channels within different teams allow the individual organization and give them increased privacy. A channel is set up with every team by default, but you have to option to include more channels. If you want to create a private team, you will allow users to enter the team after your permission. However, public team members can self-select themselves. So, if you are to work on a confidential project, make sure to create a private team for that. However, if you have to take a class for IT support for schools, you can use public teams.
File Management
File management and team collaboration are easier in Microsoft Teams, especially when it comes to filing sharing, receiving, editing, and saving. Every file shared in your team’s file library is easily accessible to every member of the team. If there is a need for editing in any documents, users can simultaneously do it without checking the files. To give a team member an alert about any document, you should always use the chat option. If you want to edit any document which involves format changing, always open the full version of the product file.
Conversations
Conversations with your team members are pretty simple and fun with Microsoft Teams. It allows a team to make their project discussions in a centralized manner where only the members of the team are allowed to read or reply to the chat messages. You can also share files and do video chat to speed up the progress of any project. With the @mentioning option, you can tag or identify a team member so that every member knows what he or she is assigned to do.
Status in Teams
Your availability is crucial in most products of the Microsoft 365 platform as it helps indicate to other members of your team whether they can interrupt you or not. You can choose your status in the team manually. If you re available for a quick chat with any member, set your status as available. Set your status to “Busy” if you don’t require any interruptions in your tasks. If you are sharing your screen with team members during a meeting, set your status to “Do not disturb.”
